Forstner bits are the superior boring bits for woodworking because they give you perfectly smooth, flat-bottomed and clean-sided holes in nearly every material. They will bore overlapping holes and pocket holes for greater versatility. Use them in portable drills and in drill presses. Always clamp material to work surface. Overall length 3 1/2" and fits 3/8" chuck and larger.

The Fisch Forstner bits are manufactured to exacting tolerances using forged, heat treated steel. Rockwell hardness registers 53-54. Designed with a centering point, periphery cutting edge, 2 edges and recessed cylindrical shank, these bits provide superior performance in any material.

Other features include:

entire rim of bit is a cutting spur, resulting in super clean cuts
dual chip lifters create a perfectly flat bottomed hole
a special relief angle reduces drag and combined with the aggressive rake angle allows the bit to cut at a higher feed rate.
