Quick Sharpener Makes Cutting Firewood Easier
(from "The Diamond Edge" an Eze-Lap Diamond Products publication)
All over the west, savvy outdoors men are putting up their supplies of firewood. Maple, alder, fir, hemlock, tamarack or pine; cut, split and stacked with the bark side down for quicker drying and curing.
The cycle doesn't end from one year to the next, but it has been made a lot easier thanks to the chain saw. But even chain saws get dull, and re-sharpening can be a major headache...until now.
Just like the outdoors men our products serve, EZE-LAP of Carson City, Nevada are long on savvy. We've developed a chain saw sharpening tool that keeps your saw cutting while other chain saws might be sitting on the workbench, or visiting the saw shop, for a time-consuming sharpening job.
The EZE-LAP diamond chain saw sharpener is just what the doctor ordered to make firewood cutting an "EZE" proposition.
Packaged in a rugged, handy plastic case, the EZE-LAP diamond chain saw sharp-ening kit is the kind of tool grandpa wish-es he'd had many years (and many cords of wood) ago. It comes with a set of three different-sized sharpeners, in 5/32, 3/16 and 7/32 inch diameters, to match virtually every type of chain on the market. Each sharpener is held in an individual guide plate notched to show the proper angle for sharpening chain teeth.
The ample cord stretches several feet, and the kit comes with easy-to-follow instructions explaining proper angle and pitch to assure that your saw not only keeps cutting, but keeps cutting straight and true.
So what good is an electric saw sharpen-er to the guy who is 40 miles form the near-est electrical outlet? Plenty! The folks at EZE-LAP know firewood doesn't materialize in the back yard. Our electric saw sharpener is designed to use a standard 12-volt DC current. You hook it up to your truck battery, or plug it right into the cigarette lighter receptacle in the dash board.
This is accom-plished thanks to EZE-LAP's unique plug/clamp on the business-end of the sharpener's cord. As a single unit, it slips right into the lighters socket. You simply switch your ignition to the "on" position, turn on the small elec-tric sharpener motor and you're in business. For direct battery hookup, the plug splits into two "clamp" pieces, which are clearly mar-ked "+" for the positive post, and "-" for the negative post. The whole maneuver takes about ten seconds.
For the hunter who sets up camp and uses wood for cooking and heating, this handy lit-tle sharpening kit is a dream. Camp wood may not be the best quality stuff, it is usually cut from fallen trees. They frequently have sand, dirt and/or gravel imbedded in the bark. That can dull a saw chain pretty fast. Hook up the EZE-LAP, however, and camp wood is cut in no time.
The EZE-LAP diamond chain saw sharpener cuts sharpening time by approx-imately 50 to 60 percent. The diamond sharpening surface doesn't seem to wear out. There is a lot less effort involved with the EZE-LAP, and that's important after you've been roaring through hardwood logs all morning long.
EZE-LAP's diamond chain saw sharp-eners are made with the same exacting standards as our renowned knife and hook sharpeners. Industrial strength diamonds are bonded to steel and heat treated to a 74 Rockwell C hardness!
How long will these sharpeners last? Years would be a conservative estimate. Certainly they'll sharpen 15 to 30 saw chains, before showing signs of wear.
That translates into uncounted cords of firewood, and plenty of warm winter nights while blizzards or rain storms howl outside. It means no more fouled or broken saw files and off-angle sharpening jobs that result in crooked cutting. It means less time spent at the bench, more available time at the woodpile, and overall, less time spent for gathering winter wood supplies--so you can have more time to fish and hunt!
Can't beat that kind of a deal, and you most assuredly can't beat the EZE-LAP diamond chain saw sharpening kit to make it all happen.
